I just happen to be the treasurer for the African Fellowship at church. Today, as I transferred the offering from the collection box (I’d forgotten the bag and had to improvise), one coin looked a little odd.
That was because it wasn’t a euro coin, but a 20 Kenyan shilling coin. And it looks remarkably a lot like a 2-euro coin, but has a tenth of its value. I don’t know who put it into the collection, and I wonder if they did it deliberately or not. I shall replace it with its equivalent in euros, and keep it for the next time I’m in my lovely homeland.
