Muy Bueno

This blog has new clothes. After over 27 months of being dressed in Connections, and around 3 months of watching what theme the WordPress Theme Team would release next, I’ve made a decision to go with Bueno. I’m still not satisfied with how it looks, but hey, I’m getting it all for free.

I like screenshots, so here goes:

The old theme had a custom header (made by me!) and a TypeKit  font (Museo) for headings and such. The custom header was the feature that most attracted me. Once I set the TypeKit font, I couldn’t figure out how to change it. And now that I’ve switched themes, it’s no longer being used, but I have no clue how to remove the TypeKit logo from the bottom of every page. Sigh. I’ll just have to spend some time in the support forums.

[Update: To remove the Typekit badge on WordPress.com, go to Appearance > Typekit fonts in your dashboard and simply delete the Typekit ID]

The new theme has bigger, bolder headings and a consistent sidebar. Lots of whitespace and a choice of colour schemes are my favourite features. I will have to do something about that chunky and imposing “Nelima’s blog” at the top, though.

So it’s not really muy bueno (very good) but mejor (better) than before.
